The teaser picture of the orange Un-Hemp Nike SB Dunk Low was leaked last week, and the teaser pic had everyone geeked up. Thanks to SneakersBR we have a first look at the entire shoe. As you can see, the fat tongue is not featured on these Dunks which is a huge disappointment for die-hard Nike SB heads and collectors. The orange Un-Hemp SB Dunk is set to hit Nike SB accounts towards the end of the year. Of course we’ll keep you updated with release info.
Now that the full shoe has been unveiled how do you feel?

Today we present the Batman inspired Nike Vandal High which is part of Nike’s Superhero inspired sneaker pack. We reported on the Superman Air Max Classic BW and Flash Big Nike sneakers last month. How could Nike release a Superhero Pack without dropping a Batman edition? That would have been a bit disrespect to the entire DC Comics family, but have no fear, Batman is here.
You can see the Batman theme embedded in the kicks with just a quick glance at the kicks. A grey front/center panel, with shiny black patent leather wrapped around the back. The yellow accents and stitching is the icing on the cake, or kicks. The Batman Vandals are now available at a Nike retailer near you, but they are kids (GS) exclusives. Sorry!

Another Mita Sneakers sneaker collabo is on the way. Asics and Mita together again, but this time they went with the Gel Lyte Speed.
Highsnobiety said:
A new collaboration between Asics and Mita Sneakers will hit the market this September. The lightweight running shoe Gel-Lyte Speed is an evolution from the technologically equipped Gel-Light III from 1990. Gel-Lyte Speed, built to meet the demand of increasingly diversifying US runners looking for lightweight shoes, was launched in the US in 1991 and the following year in Japan.
The Gel-Lyte Speed features the split tongue construction; an idea put forward by a shoe developer at the Asics head offices in Kobe in 1988 to prevent the tongue from slipping inside while running. Long-distance runners started taking to this new idea, and the split tongue system was used in the Gel-Lyte III and later in the Gel-Lyte Speed.
The color tone of the 500-pair Gel-Lyte Speed limited edition, a collaboration with Mita Sneakers, was inspired by tropical fruits that bring to mind a comfortable, lightweight and cushioned run along a tropical island beach. The upper uses gradation to further fortify the summer feel. Some of the nylon materials in the upper were inspired by the cotton-woven fabrics often used in Hawaiian summer clothing. Tropical is a key word in this collection.

Actual pictures of the Air Jordan 13 Fusion have finally hit the web. The Air Jordan Fusion family continues to expand with the newest member sent for a Holiday due date. There’s been a lot of love/hate towards the fusion is the sneaker community, but more hate than love. Is there anyone out there that actually likes fusions? What about the AJF13? Outside of the sneaker community, fusions are selling like Michael Jackson memorabilia. Check out everyone’s footwork the next time you’re doing some shopping at the mall. It really doesn’t matter if you like them or not because this OG Air Jordan 13 colorway applied to these fusions will hit Jordan Brand accounts in November. Another pic after the jump…

In the hip-hop world, a performer’s street cred can often be gauged by the number of entries on their rap sheet, the time they have spent behind bars, or the gritty details of their illicit escapades.
By any of those metrics, the chart-topping R&B singer Akon appears to have compiled an exemplary outlaw resume, one brimming with scrapes from a hard knock life.
Compared to most of hip-hop’s leading figures past and present–50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Diddy, Tupac Shakur, Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G.–Akon, 35, seems to have logged more time behind bars and, consequently, gained a better understanding of the average convict’s plight (both in and out of custody) than any of his musical peers.
The New York Times has referred to him as the “prison-obsessed R&B singer” who “wants it known that crooners can evoke prison life just as effectively as rappers.” In fact, the singer not only named his company Konvict Music, but he settled on “Konvicted” for the title of his second album, which sold nearly three million copies last year.
As it turns out, however, “Kontrived” might have been a more accurate choice.
Akon’s ad nauseum claims about his criminal career and resulting prison time have been, to an overwhelming extent, exaggerated, embellished, or wholly fabricated, an investigation by The Smoking Gun has revealed. Police, court, and corrections records reveal that the entertainer has created a fictionalized backstory that serves as the narrative anchor for his recorded tales of isolation, violence, woe, and regret. Akon has overdubbed his biography with the kind of grit and menace that he apparently believes music consumers desire from their hip-hop stars.
While the performer’s rap sheet does include a half-dozen arrests, Akon has only been convicted of one felony, for gun possession. That 1998 New Jersey case ended with a guilty plea, for which the singer was sentenced to three years probation. Another 1998 bust, this one in suburban Atlanta, has been seized upon by Akon and transformed into the big case that purportedly sent him to prison (thanks to his snitching cohorts) for three fight-filled years. In reality, Akon was arrested for possession of a single stolen BMW and held in the DeKalb County jail for several months before prosecutors dropped all charges against him.
So there was no conviction. There was no prison term between 1999 and 2002. And he was never “facing 75 years,” as the singer claimed in one videotaped interview.
Akon’s manager, Robert Carnes, declined to discuss any aspect of the criminal history of the R&B singer, who is currently touring in Africa. Carnes directed a reporter to Sharonda Smalls, Akon’s publicist at Universal Motown Records. After being apprised of the nature of TSG’s story, Smalls said she would seek replies to our questions, but had not called back at press time. Darrick “Devyne” Stephens, Akon’s longtime collaborator and business partner, did not return several messages left at his Atlanta office.
Akon is not the first performer to fudge some biographical details. But few artists have gone so far out of their way to aggressively promote these fabrications and embellishments (or you could just call them lies).

The AJ1 is the shoe that started it all for Nike’s Air Jordan line, and more new colorways have just touch down. Ladies, seen above is the girls Air Jordan 1 in a black/plum color-up. At least it’s not pink! As for the men, two new releases have just landed. The brown Air Jordan 1 Hi Strap is one of the new colors for the guys. Can we call them the Mocha Air Jordan 1’s? Also, the black on black aka black ostrich Air Jordan 1 High is now available.
You can find these J’s at a number of Jordan Brand retailers right now. Oh yeah, Corporate got em! Phone orders? All day – everyday!

Eddie Cruz of UNDFTD wasn’t the only person thinking about using fish scale print on kicks this year. As a matter of fact, Eddie and Nike designers might have been in the lab at the same time. Today we take a look at one of the fish scale Nike Air Force 1’s. It has been reported that Nike will release three colorways of the fish scale print AF1’s for women. Here we have a crisp image of the gold colorway which features fish scale print along the upper.
Technically, Fall starts next month in sneaker brand land. With that said, these kicks should be available sometime in August.
