CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – Former American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino has been hospitalized in the Charlotte-area after police sources confirm that she attempted to commit suicide.

According to a report filed with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, officers responded on Monday at 8:43 p.m. to a suicide attempt call at a home on Bevington Place.

Police sources and sources close to the investigation say Barrino was found in the closet of the Glynmoor Lakes neighborhood home and she was taken to Mercy South Hospital at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville.

According to the police report, Barrino was hospitalized with “possible internal injuries” after “ingesting medication.” The police report was classified as “suicide/overdose.” Barrino was reportedly found clutching onto an empty bottle of aspirin.

Sources tell WBTV that a production crew for Barrino’s VH1 reality show “Fantasia For Real” was at Barrino’s home on the day she overdosed.

Brian Dickens, who is Barrino’s manager in Maryland, is the one who notified CMPD that something was wrong with her, the police report stated.

According to the police report, the incident is still under investigation.

LOS ANGELES – Michael Jackson’s full autopsy report was released following the filing of involuntary manslaughter charges on Monday against the singer’s personal doctor. Following are some notable or new highlights of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s report into Jackson’s June 25 death.

–Jackson died of “acute propofol intoxication” administered at a level equivalent to that used during anesthesia for “major surgery”. A consultant anesthesiologist said there were “no reports of its use in insomnia relief.”

–None of the recommended monitoring, precision dosing or resuscitation equipment was present in Jackson’s room.

–Jackson had the skin pigmentation disorder vitiligo, with white patches particularly on his chest, abdomen, face and arms.

–The hair on Jackson’s head was described initially by police as “sparse and connected to a wig.” The autopsy revealed “frontal balding”.

–A bandage was present on the tip of Jackson’s nose.

–A closed bottle of urine was found on a chair in the bedroom where the singer died, along with a box of catheters, disposable needles, alcohol pads, several empty orange juice bottles, a string of wooden beads and a green oxygen tank.

–On Aug 6, a month before his burial, police went to the mortuary where his body was being held to collect hair samples for toxicology tests. The casket was described as yellow with a blue lining and Jackson was wearing a long, dark wig. “Moving the wig revealed short, dark, curly natural hair…measuring approximately one and a half inches in length.”

–Jackson’s body was covered with small scars on his nose, knee, shoulder, neck, wrists, and behind both ears.

–He had dark tattoos near both eyebrows and a small pink tattoo near his lips.

–His body weighed 136 pounds, was 69 inches long, and was described as “thin.”

The LAPD took Sparks into custody at 8AM PT this morning on a felony warrant charging him with molestation.

The alleged incidents began occurring in 1994. According to the criminal complaint Shane allegedly committed the crimes of lewd acts upon a child — all felonies.

The criminal complaint — filed by the L.A. County District Attorney’s office — lists 9 incidents of alleged molestation with an underage girl.

The lewd acts include oral copulation and other acts “with the intent of arousing, appealing to, and gratifying the lust, passions, and sexual desires of the defendant, who was at least 10 years older than [the victim].”

Sparks — who was also a choreographer on “So You Think You Can Dance” — is being held on $590,000 bail.

You know you’ve reached superstar status when you have a bunch of fans losing their damn minds at your concert. I.E. Lil Wayne’s concert. Twenty-three people were arrested at the Lil’ Wayne concert last night including a 16-year-old from Cheektowaga, charged with trespassing for allegedly jumping a fence to get into the concert venue, nine people busted on marijuana charges, a ten year-old busted on possession of alcohol, a 23 year-old charged with hitting a female fan and injuring a security guard, a 26 year-old arrested for disorderly conduct and swearing in public and other arrests including criminal mischief and destruction of property.

The former singer from Diddy’s MTV reality show “Making the Band 2″ has once again made the cut — but cops say this time Sara Stokes was using a knife … to stab her own husband.

We know what you’re thinking, “someone must’ve beat the crap out of this woman” — but according to cops, it was the exact opposite.

This bloody mug shot was taken after Stokes was arrested for domestic violence August 2 at their home in Moreno Valley, CA.

According to law enforcement sources, Sara stormed out of the house after arguing with husband Tony — she tripped, fell down and accused him of doing it.

We’re told Sara — who hurt her head in the fall — grabbed a knife and stabbed Tony in the arm — while their 3 kids watched.

Paramedics and cops came and Stokes was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence. The D.A. is deciding whether to charge her.

Sara’s lawyer, Eric Kayira, tells us, “Sara and Tony have a very passionate and loving relationship that on August 2, while having an evening of fun, she slipped and fell, hitting her head heavily on the ground and somehow in the process of helping her Tony got injured.”
